Biography

Seventh One was formed in 1997 by Christoffer Hermansson (guitar) and Johannes Losbäck(guitar). They contacted fellow friends Jörgen Olsson(Bass), Jonny Edvardsson (Drums) and Rino Fredh (Vocals) to complete the line-up. In early 98 the group performed at the finals of the biggest Battle of The Bands on the swedish west coast and took both the crowd and the jury by storm! Seventh One won 3 awards (best instrumentalist, best vocalist and best band) First prize was 4 days locked up inside a local studio with all expenses paid.

The self titled demo-cd was released in 99 and within months Rock Hard featured the band with a song on their Unerhört cd. At the same time they received lots of positive feedback both from metal media as well as from some very well known labels. Around the same time, Mats Karlsson replaced Jonny on drums and in November 2000 they started recording their "The Celestial Prophecy" demo.

A total of 12 tracks were laid down and 6 of those were spread to labels and some metal Zines. They received even better reviews this time around and Heavy Oder Was!? featured one song from the demo on one of their Metal Crusade cds of unsigned bands. Label interest was pretty high and in 2002 Seventh One signed with Armageddon, a label with Lars Ratz (Metalium) at the steering wheel. Shortly before the recording sessions were scheduled to begin, they got a new drummer, Tobias R. Kellgren (SoulReaper,Dissection) they recorded and released their first cd "Sacrifice" in 2002 with very good reviews in such legendary MetalZines such as Rock Hard (8..10), Kerrang (4..5) and Sweden Rock Magazine (8..10) to mention some.

The band performed live at the 2000 Decibel festival in Sweden and at the Party stage of Wacken Open Air in 2003. The Armageddon Over Wacken DVD and Double cd from the festival 2003 was released in 2004 and Seventh One was featured on both releases with different songs.

In January 2004 the recordings of their sophomore cd began and it was released upon the world in September the same year. Again they received some very good reviews and it was evident that the band had progressed as song writers and that the style of Seventh One was further redefined. This cd was also released in Japan and featured an exclusive bonus track for Japan.
